TEACHING A SMALL CAR TO SEE

HLR Self-Driving Car V2 was built for WRO Future Engineers. It must drive laps, avoid obstacles and park using incomplete visual information.

One system, three responsibilities

The perception pipeline identifies track features and obstacles. The control layer converts observations into steering decisions. The behaviour layer decides when to pass, recover and park.

In June 2026, the car won the Romanian national final and qualified for the WRO World Final.

OpenMV made it possible to run the vision loop on compact hardware. EasyEDA and JLCPCB supported the electronics workflow that turned the prototype into a competition-ready machine.
